Over the course of his distinguished career, Juan T. O’Naghten has provided strategic counsel to companies at every stage of development—from formation and fundraising to expansion and exit.

As General Counsel and founding board member of a U.S. passenger charter airline with global routes, Juan was instrumental from inception to sale. He led the capital raise, navigated complex regulatory approvals (DOT and FAA), and managed labor negotiations and litigation through unionization and a Congressional inquiry. His leadership extended beyond legal strategy to business positioning, culminating in the successful sale of the airline.
 
Similarly, he advised a pioneering internet provider through its evolution into a full-scale telecom enterprise. Juan led capital raises, oversaw acquisitions, and negotiated a private equity sale in the low nine figures—all while maintaining operational oversight as General Counsel.
 
For a Fortune 500 client, Juan structured the issuance of Eurodollar notes to take advantage of international tax treaties—demonstrating the financial foresight and tax acumen that distinguish his strategic advisory work.

The Firm also provides strategic advice for dispute avoidance and strategies for effective dispute resolutions. For instance, Luis provides advice on structuring transactions and dispute resolution clauses giving clients the best opportunity to successfully resolve disputes that may occur. This includes making sure that clients take into account the investment agreements entered into by countries that afford protection to their investors and creating dispute resolution clauses that fit clients’ specific needs.
